Don was born in Almonte, Ontario, but currently lives in Bells Corners. Don played regularly with the Mississippi River Boys, a Lanark County country dance band, from 1958 when he was just fifteen, until they disbanded in 1988. He originally played drums with the MRB, but eventually moved to guitar and vocals. From 2003 to the present day Don has played with “The Grateful We’re Not Dead”, a group which Don helped form and which successfully raises money for numerous charities. “The Greatful We’re Not Dead” plays fund raising events throughout the Ottawa Valley and further afield into the Tri-County Area. Aside from playing charity events and jamming with friends, Don has also written a number of catchy country songs over the years. Don is seventy-five years of age and has plans to continue making music well into the future.
